The
Carpenters Legacy Lives On...
Offering/Ticket
To Ride
Information/Comments:
Ticket
to Ride was the very first A&M Records studio album ever
released by the Carpenters in 1969. Originally the album was
titled "Offering", but the name and album cover
was later changed after the popularity of the single "Ticket
To Ride" showed some moderate popularity, Reaching #54
on the charts, along with the later popularity of "Close
To You" in 1970. The Ticket To Ride album itlsef reached
#150 on the U.S charts.
My
personal favorite songs on Ticket To Ride are of course "Ticket
To Ride" and "Someday". I also noticed that
this first Carpenters album showcases Richard Carpenter's
writing and vocal talent quite a bit as well.

Ticket
To Ride the song was re-recorded in 1973, with Karen re-recording
her vocals and drum solo, along with the addition of Carpenters'
guitarist Tony Peluso performing on electric guitar.
For
a collector or fan Ticket To Ride is certainly worth checking
out, if for no other reason, It is the very fist Carpenters
album.
