The
Carpenters Legacy Lives On...
A
Kind of Hush
Information/Comments:
This
might sound silly, but as a Graphic Designer, the first thing
I liked about the Carpenters "A Kind Of Hush" album,
is the look of the album cover itself. I wonder how they made
that wonderful "frosty" look?
Karen
Carpenter's favorite song, according to Richard Carpenter
was the song "I Need to Be in Love" and I can understand
why. The song expresses something that I once heard Fred Rogers
and Josh McDowell talk about, that many people have the fear
that they will never be loved or be able to love. I especially
like the very rare Carpenters music video to "I need
to Be In Love" because it sort of has a message that
even if you don't ever find your perfect mate, that's ok,
you can still be happy, and life does go on.
Okay,
my first song that I have to honestly say is below average
in my opinion, is "Goofus". When I first heard Karen
sing this song on the Carpenters TV special "Space Encounters"
I thought the Karen was saying "Goofy" because I
knew about her love for Mickey Mouse and Disneyland.
