Merry
Christmas to all! If you like the classic Christmas songs, I don't
see how you would not enjoy this album. "Merry Christmas
Darling", "Christ is Born" and "Ave Maria"
are among my favorites. I also love the artistic "Norman
Rockwell" look for the album cover - my complements to whoever
made it.
The
Song "Merry Christmas Darling" is one of the "original"
Carpenters Christmas songs, written by Frank Pooler, and was released
as a single back in 1970.
I
don't believe the original "Christmas Portrait" album
was ever released as a "stand-alone" CD. You can however,
get some of the songs from this album on the Carpenters
Christmas Portrait, "Special Edition" CD, which
was released in 1985.
