The
Carpenters Legacy Lives On...

Rainy
Days And Mondays
Rainy
Days And Mondays/Saturday - single:
"Rainy
Days And Mondays" would probably rank as one of the best
"melancholy" songs that the Carpenters ever performed.
Whenever I watch or listen to Karen sing this haunting and beautiful
song I think to myself, "I can't imagine anyone else ever
singing this song". Karen has absolutely perfect pitch on
the words like "frown", "clown" and "down".
I almost cry when I hear the beauty of the lyrics and the sound
of Karen's voice.
Karen
Carpenter said herself that from the very first time she sang
"Rainy Days And Mondays" she just went into another
world.
Carpenters
band member Bob Messenger also adds a wonderful touch to the song
with his wonderful saxaphone sound.
"Rainy
Days" brought the Carpenters another Grammy for Best Pop
Performance by a Group. It certainly deserved the recognition.
