Once More / Road Ode - single:
The
Carpenters song "Yesterday Once More" was written by
Richard Carpenter and John Bettis, and went on to become a smash
hit in the summer of 1973. The song reached #2 on the charts both
in the United States and in the United Kingdom.
"Yesterday
Once More" has a wonderful warm and nostalgic feel to it,
expressing the emotions that we all feel about certain things
in our past that make us smile.
In
an interview, Richard Carpenter said that "Yesterday Once
More" is the song that sent the Carpenters popularity in
Japan "through the roof", when it became one of the
best-selling singles of all time.
