The
Carpenters Legacy Lives On...

Top
of the World / Heather - single:
The
Carpenters song "Top Of The World" was a double delight
for the Carpenters because it not only became another #1 hit in
December of 1973, but it was also another song that Richard Carpenter
co-wrote with John Bettis.
"Top
Of The World" was originally only seen as a pleasant album
cut, not worthy of being released as a single, but the public
proved them pleasantly wrong.
"Heather"
is one of the most beautiful pieces of piano music that I ever
heard. I first heard this wonderful music on the Carpenters Budokan
Concert television video, and later found out it was featured
on the "Now and Then" album.
